About Matt

I'm Matthew Cox, MPSE, a dialogue editor, ADR supervisor, and dubbing mixer with 20 years of experience in TV, film, and documentary. My credits range from long-running series like Doctor Who to independent features and factual mixing work.

I began my career in Soho in the early 2000s, working in audio post for commercials before transitioning into drama dialogue editing. I also worked extensively as a dubbing mixer for the BBC before venturing into the freelance world in 2022. Over the years, I’ve contributed to more than 120 episodes of Doctor Who, helping shape its tone through carefully crafted dialogue, ADR, and vocal sound design. I also add sound effects editing and foley to my bow, bringing a well-rounded and experienced approach to storytelling through sound. My work has been recognised with a BAFTA Cymru and the 2024 Broadcast Tech Innovation Award.

When I'm not in post, I play guitar and write music—some of which has made its way into the commercial world. I'm a dad of three and a fan of good films, always haunted by clicks, bumps, and whines…
